It started with a kid everyone called. Growing up, our founder Kevin August was the one you phoned when the internet stopped working, a virus wiped (or hid) somebody's files, the computer needed more memory, or the hard drive quit responding. Family first, then neighbors, then people he'd never met.
Eventually businesses started calling with a different question: why can't anyone find us on Google? It took Kevin a while to see that as a business, and longer to believe he could run one. In 2005 he started August SEO. Search turned into websites, websites turned into analytics, and analytics meant a lot of hours inside CRMs, accounting exports, and databases working out which numbers were real.
The same thing kept coming up. Owners were sitting on years of data they couldn't use: sales in one system, jobs in another, invoices in a third, and a weekly report somebody rebuilt by hand. Everything needed to run the business better was already there, just out of reach.
AI changed what's practical for a company that size. Connecting those systems, putting the numbers on one live screen, and having an agent answer customers or read invoices from that same data used to be enterprise-budget projects. Now a single build usually takes a few weeks.
So we started SpokaneAI to do that work for businesses here in the Inland Northwest, and it's what we're putting the next twenty years into. You work directly with the people who build your system, from the first conversation through support after launch. No account managers, no handoffs.
